The ladies on our team were especially busy with their counseling sessions each day. Most of the young lady leaders come from black communities that live in poverty. Electricity is not available every day. Large numbers of family members live in small spaces. Many do not have fathers at home. In short, there is much dysfunction and physical abuse is common. The ladies may be angry at their parents for not caring for them. Or they may even have been angry at God. We have had many testimonies from leaders who have started the process to let go of their angry and to forgive people who hurt them. By forgiving others, these young leaders will be able to grow closer to the Lord. And they will be much more effective leaders for the national Young Life ministry in South Africa. So please continue to pray for the leaders to continue down this path as there may be many layers of forgiveness.

This week we have shared some simple methods to help these leaders learn how to study their Bibles. Most were either reading the Bible quickly or waiting for someone else to tell them what the Bible says. Many do not have regular access to wifi tools for Bible study either. So we have given the leaders simple tools they may apply on their own to study Scripture and listen to the personal applications the Lord wants to teach them. Ask the Lord to bless these lessons and motivate the young leaders to continue to apply these lessons. God’s Word will continue to change their lives!! And remember, these leaders will pass on what they learn to thousands of teenagers who meet Jesus in the years to come!!
